This photo of a small Te Alo Lili was taken by the Australian administrator of Santa Cruz Islands in the 1950s. The person sitting on it holding the steering blade is none other than Basil Tevake, the master navigator who demonstrated his skills to Dr. David Lewis during 3 inter-island passages on David’s yacht in 1969-70.
